The Art
The gallery has an overwhelming collection of Jewish art, exposing an astounding variety of works that include great masters like Moshe Castel, Yitzhak Frenkel, Shimshon Holzman, Aaron Yakobson and Rolly Schaffer.
The artworks spread from the early 20th century up to our current day, decorating the arches and walls of this marvelous house. The diversity of styles is vast, from abstract cubism to dreamy impressionism. Yacov Hadad, the owner of the house, will be delighted to indulge in the many tales surrounding these artworks.
You'll find both originals as well as reproductions that can be purchased. However, the gallery cannot be simply categorized as a commercial visit. The paintings reflect the history of Tzfat, of the great painters who studied in fascination the Jewish land and the beautiful ambience of the mysterious city. As you roam thoughtfully from one gallery to another, you'll be immersed in the enchanting stories that dwell beneath the paintings. It is simply something one cannot miss if the admiration of art and Jewish art specifically, is not foreign to them.
